Description
MIT525 Megger 5KV Insulation Tester is a compact, lightweight 5 kV insulation resistance tester. Ideal for the diagnostic testing and maintenance of high voltage electrical equipment. It is both smaller and lighter than its predecessor, making it even easier to carry and store.
Get your CoC’s done professionally. As well as measuring insulation resistance to 10 TΩ, the MIT525 also offers various diagnostic tests such as polarisation index, dielectric absorption ratio. Step voltage, dielectric discharge and ramp testing is included.
Now equipped with lithium ion fast rechargeable batteries, the instrument has a large, clear, easy-to-read display, making it equally suitable for use in both bright sunlight and poorly lit environments. Information displayed includes resistance, voltage, leakage current, capacitance, battery status and time constant. In addition, the elapsed time of the test is displayed constantly removing the need for separate timer.
Voltage warnings.
The whole range also feature a multitude of voltage warnings to help ensure user safety. In fact there are five levels of warnings. Before testing has started the instrument will provide these warnings:
Level 1: Live voltage above 30 V applied
Level 2: 75 % of the instruments noise limit exceeded, check filter settings
Level 3: 100 % of instruments noise limit exceeded warning and test inhibited
Level 4: External voltage overheating discharge resisitors disconnect
Level 5: The fifth warning is a unique one.
During testing in high noise environments induced noise surges can result in extremely high voltages being applied to the instrument. In the event that these voltages are higher than the instruments reinforced insulation limits the instrument will halt the test to reduce terminal voltage and warn the user not to touch the instrument.
